Comedy Central Picks Up Kenny Vs. Spenny

It is a story so old, in Canada, that it might as well just be assigned a number. In Canada Kenny Vs. Spenny, is much travelled, originally airing on CBC before being cancelled and finding a new home on Showcase. In Canada it is also a constant question whether there will be a 'next season'

Outside of Canada it just keeps gaining ground. It has aired in Australia and the US, and the formula has been copied by the BBC. Now Comedy Central, the home of South Park and the Daily Show has picked it up, not only buying 10 old episodes but ordering 10 new ones that will produced with help from South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
"When we first saw Kenny vs. Spenny we thought it was really funny," say Parker and Stone, in a release. "And the fact that they are Canadian somehow makes it even funnier. Truthfully, the show isn't just funny, it's the most accurate examination of male friendships that we've ever seen."
I couldn't agree more. I would go so far as to say that Kenny Vs. Spenny is the funniest, most creative and original Canadian program of the last five years. I find it sad that it, apparently, will take love from the US before Canadians will accept that it's any good. I couldn't be happier though for Kenny Hotz and Spencer Rice (& company). They deserve everything they get for surviving this long, for overcoming the short sightedness and lack of vision (with all due respect to Showcase) of Canadian networks and programmers.

You can see Season 4 of Kenny Vs. Spenny on Showcase beginning November 6. Images from Season 4 are below.
