On January 29 the Rancho Relaxo (300 College St., Toronto) will host the first indiecredit show. In case you've missed my previous posts on this indiecredit shows will pool all of the money paid at the door into a Kiva Account the money would (as you would expect from a Kiva account) then be used to make micro loans to help people in the developing world become economically self sufficient.
In the simplest terms: "If you give a man a fish he'll eat for a day, if you teach him to fish" Kiva is where you loan people who already know how to fish the money to buy a fishing pole.
The January 29 show will feature the Lovely Killbots "(a piano/drum duo) were assembled with the utmost love and care in a downtown factory by brilliant scientists and a student assistant who didn't quite know what he was doing but made really, really good coffee", as well as the Wilderness of Manitoba and Wendy Leung. Doors are at 9 pm and the cost is a whopping $5. Come save the world with indie music and beer!
