Ok, not 1,000 years, but there are now 1,000 Free Audio Books available through Librivox. Librivox, for those of you who don't know, is run entirly by volunteers. They take books in the public domain, have volunteers read them, one chapter at a time - and then publish them with the help of Archive.org. What that means is that there are no ads, and they are completely free - forever.
Pretty cool eh?
