Wavelength Turning 9!

From February 12 - 15 Wavelength will be celebrating it's 9th Anniversary with 19 bands at 5 different venues over 4 days!

February 12 at The Music Gallery at St. George the Martyr Church, 197 John St. Timbre Timbre, the Ghost Bees and Dorit Chrysler.

T.O. Saturday All Ages Afternoon Show with Bicycles, Oh No Forest Fires + More

Got this note from All Caps awhile back about an all ages show happening at Rolly's Garage (124 Ossington North of Queen St.) this Saturday in Toronto. It is (like All Caps) an all ages afternoon show with Pizza! On the bill are

On No Forest Fires, Golden Girls, Skeleton Me (the solo project of Luke Lalonde of Born Ruffians), The Bicycles and Tonka and Puma (Hooded Fang side project)!

And, as I mentioned, there will be Pizza!

Last week the up and coming Toronto band Hooded Fang added some Free Downloads to publicbroadcasting.ca. Toronto's Hooded Fang has been building up alot of buzz lately. From (for example) I (Heart) Music:

"Their melodies are catchy, their vocal harmonies are extremely tight and, most impressively, they don't really sound like anyone else. "Fall Leaves", for example, has a vague Strokes feel to it, but it's so muted that it doesn't even really work as a comparison."

and Herohill:

"Hooded Fang doesn't fall victim to finding one style that works and playing it to death. They expose three or four styles (in a mere 5 songs) the with equal success, which is pretty impressive for such a new band."
