Weirdsville in Toronto

Shawinigan (QC) Native Allan Moyle will be in Toronto this weekend for special screenings of his new film Weirdsville. Moyle, best known for his work in the 1990s with such films as Pump Up the Volume, the Gun In Betty Lou's Handbag, Empire Records, and New Waterford Girl has had a harder time of it in the 2000s. His last credit, listed in IMDb was Man In the Mirror: the Michael Jackson Story.

Hopefully Weirdsville, a Canada/US co-production that was well received at this year's TIFF will help him bounce back. Moyle be in attendance for a quick Q&A following the 4:20 screenings at the Scotiabank Theatre on Saturday Oct 13th and Sunday Oct 14th as well as a Special Talkback Session: Saturday October 13, 1:15 PM

Following a special presentation of Weirdsville get up close and personal with director Allan Moyle (Pump up the Volume, Empire Records), producer Nicholas Tabarrok (Life and Hard Times of Guy Terrifico) and writer Willem Wennekers (Night Class) as Eye Weekly film critic leads a discussion on the Making of a Comedy. Other themes to be explored include the director / actor relationship, finding the perfect cast and working with key creatives.
